A Word from John Danic
Usually I’ll try to be philosophical or maybe
theological but this newsletter finds me “thankful’ and “grateful.”
First, I thank God for the ministry of CBMC. It’s
been a fulfilling experience serving with the Core Team.
I’m grateful that there have been so many faithful
participants of CBMC’s Mission to share the Gospel
to men of Southeastern Michigan.
God has sustained our efforts to continue to
minister to each other in the City Teams. The City
Teams have increased their outreach programs to
businessmen. And thank God, men have been
coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Secondly, I am thankful for is my wife Bonnie.
Sometimes we get caught up in the “Big Picture”
and are not grateful enough for the closer relationships in our lives like our wives, children,
employers and employees.
Right now I’m really blessed. I hope we’re able to be
as grateful and thankful for the blessings and the
lessons learn from trials so that we can be a blessing
to others. And then maybe someone will be thankful
for me.
“For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in
the Lord Jesus which exists in you, and your love for
all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you,
while making mention of you in my prayers…” (Eph.1:15,16).
God bless you and yours,
John T. Danic, CBMC-SEMI
Core Team Chairman

ARE YOU A FAITHFUL STEWARD?
By Jay Hackleman, Core Team vice chairman
The “stewardship” concept is well known, especially in Christian circles.
It’s a strong motivation for those of us who guide CBMC of Southeastern Michigan. We are dedicated
to maximizing God’s work with the funds that He, through you, make available for this ministry to business
and professional men in metro Detroit.
But in God’s economy, it’s more than just giving some money to a worthy cause after we’ve satisfied
our own needs and wants.
Yes, stewardship is giving of our treasure, but it also requires giving of our time and talent. God deserves
the best part, not that which is leftover. He desires the first fruits of our labor. He should receive
our worship on the first day of the week.
"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful" (I Corinthians 4:2).
We only fool ourselves when we pretend to “tip” Him. After all, God is the owner! We are merely entrusted
with His riches for a short time as stewards. Naturally, true stewardship also applies to our time and talents. When was the last time you asked five
men to join you at an outreach? Have you shared your own faith lately? Who is your Timothy?
Are we truly being faithful stewards?
"Thine, O LORD, [is] the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for
all [that is] in the heaven and in the earth [is thine]; thine [is] the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted
as head above all.
Both riches and honour [come] of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand [is] power and
might; and in thine hand [it is] to make great, and to give strength unto all"
(I Chronicles 29:11-12).
